Shireshead 165-7 Warton 125-7
Warton’s batsmen held the Shireshead attack at bay as the visitors chased a second win of the season.
Shireshead batted first, after losing the toss, and posted an impressive 165 in their 45 overs. Simon Gould led the charge with a magnificent 78 off just 84 balls, finding the boundary regularly. Gould was ably supported by Paul Yates who scored 35 off just 32 balls. Both batsmen fell to Crowther.
Warton’s innings started badly as Mayor fell to David Jack in the first over, caught by Tom Jacques. And in the sixth over Price fell lbw to Irfan Qayuum leaving Warton 2-6. Winder, 44, settled the innings with Barnfield, 20, as Warton held on despite the best efforts of Jack, 2-44 and Jacques, 3-41.
