Shireshead 2nd XI continued their excellent season thus far with an emphatic 6 wicket victory over Carnforth 2nds and 12 points which see them pushing hard for the play-off final in September.

Tremendous bowling by veteran Paul Yates with 11 overs 4 wickets for 12 runs and highly impressive new man Jack Cunnington with 4 for 21 from 9.5 overs restricted Carnforth to 71 all out in 38.5 overs.

In reply an impressive 29 not out from 16 year old Oliver Wilkinson and 22 not out from Ste Yates with two sixes and a four, saw Shires cruise to victory in the 27th over. For Carnforth, Daniel Butterfield returned superb figures of 12 overs 4 wickets for 13 runs.
