Well done to our Shireshead Fillies ladies team who outplayed Arnside to win by over 100 runs. A great team performance with all the ladies contributing with bat and ball and in the field. Catching was sound (mostly0 the best being Amy Creed’s caught and bowled and Sue Swire’s sharp snaffle behind the wicket. Particular kudos must go to relative newcomers Sue Swire and Jo Kerr who both bowled accurately and batted confidently. Sharon Bryan looked the most correct batsperson on the night and bowled very accurately to boot. Amy Creed also proved herself a capable all-rounder as she plundered the Arnside bowling as part of Shireshead’s first pair. Evie McBride thought she had hit her way to a new cricket bat off mum but was centimetres away from the 6 she needed. Andrea Bookless was accomplished as ever behind the stumps. The highlight however was the big hitting of Katie Oliver in her partnership with Emma Johnson where the running between the wickets was exemplary.
