Chasing a below par 128 from Coniston, Shireshead 2nds chased down the modest total largely thanks to a classy and controlled 64 not out from Ernie Collinson. The first wicket partnership of 38 with Oliver Wilkinson (16) really decided the match despite an heroic bowling display from Mike Burton supported ably by Paddy Maher

Earlier in proceedings Tom McCartney was the pick of the bowlers taking 2 for 30 but the late entry of Jake Gould had the biggest impact as he took 4 for 5 and eviscerated the middle/lower order.  George Wilkinson (42) and Mike Burton (35) had looked like Coniston would post something in the 180 region but Gould’s spell put paid to that notion.
