Shireshead 168 all out Cleator 73 all out

Shireshead firsts claimed a place in the Village Knockout semi-finals with an impressive win away at Cleator.

Batting first, after winning the toss, Tom Jacques, 35, and Simon Gould, 47, set the visitors on the path to an impressive total. David Jack’s 40, which saw four sixes, ensured Shireshead posted an imperious 168 which the home side never looked like reaching.

Wickets fell regularly as Shireshead held on to their catches. with Joe Cuncliffe returning excellent figures of 4-12 off just 4.4 overs including a caught and bowled, Jack and Jacques chipped with two wickets each as Shireshead cruised into the semi-finals.
