Shireshead 3rds entertained Kirby Lonsdale 2nds on Sunday and after winning the toss took first advantage to bat on yet another excellent wicket at Clifton Park. Shireshead made a solid start and picked up singles to keep the scoreboard moving. Some accurate left arm swing bowling from Teasdale accounted for Letchley and brought Sloan to the crease who started watchfully then scored well square of the wicket and helped build 30 plus partnerships with 3 more of the young Shireshead batsmen. Sloan reached his second successive 50 which together with Richards crisp 20 and 14 not out from Atkinson meant Shireshead finished on 161. Kirby Lonsdale were never allowed to settle by the young Shireshead bowlers. Aiden Weir bowled a super line and length to record 2 for 24. Only the final wicket pair of Sinclair and Treverton threatened to deny Shireshead. But Andy Weir, 4 for 13 had other ideas and finished Kirby Lonsdale off by bowling Sinclair in 37th over to give Shireshead the win by 33 runs.
