Shireshead U11 claimed their first win of the season with a slow boiling, nail-biting win against Torrisholme Red.

Shireshead elected to bat first and Torrisholme restricted them successfully until Stan Picton and Sam Entwistle put on 28.

Finishing on 261, Shireshead were put on the back foot when the opening Torrisholme pair hit 23.

However tight bowling and fine fielding by Shireshead clawed the game back.

Going into the final over  Torrisholme were in the box seat but a fine caught and bowled by Prentice Tutton settled the game in the favour of Shireshead, and brought up their first maximum points of the season.
