After a 1st round bye in the 2018 u11 Lancashire Cup, Shireshead U11 hardball team travelled to Blackpool on the Costa Del Lancs for a second round tie on a glorious sunny evening.

Under a cloudless sky Shireshead were asked to bat first and struggled to score fluently until Charlie Eastham and Stanley Collinson came to the wicket.

A faultless partnership of 29 between these two helped Shireshead post a modest but competitive total of 237.

With a determined and consistent effort Shireshead took the game to the final overs and despite some excellent bowling, fielding and catching the strength of Blackpool’s experienced batters won the day.

Shireshead gave a fine team performance in the field and can take many positives forward for the rest of the season.
