Shireshead’s Ollie Wilkinson with an unbeaten 51 steered the home side to a comfortable victory against a Milnthorpe side.
Milnthorpe won the toss and batted. Shireshead’s Will Greenwood and Will Gaskell opening the bowling without any luck, with Gaskell beating the bat several times.
Brian Smith stroked a classy 71 before Moulsdale, 5-1-7-1, trapped him lbw in the 35th over, Alex Bantleman also bowled well in the middle of the innings, with 10-1-25-2, and Gaskell 10-3-38-3 returned with three well deserved wickets to keep the innings in check.
The Shireshead reply with Mark Sutcliffe 49 and Ollie Wilkinson 51, not out, taking full advantage of anything loose and also the lighting fast outfield, both hitting nine boundaries. Young Louis Baldwin took the only wicket in the 16th over with 83 on the board, Adam Coates 11, not out, supported Wilkinson through to his maiden senior 50, and to a Shireshead victory in the 23rd over.
